What Is Lip Blushing?
Lip blushing is a cosmetic treatment that allows you to achieve a perfect lip colour and shape. It can create the illusion of fuller lips by implanting color in areas that may be less pigmented naturally or have lost color as a result of fillers and/or aging. Subtle or bright colours can be used to achieve your desired look. Lip blushing is also called lip tattooing, even though it is not permanent.
What Happens During The Lip Blushing Treatment?
Lip blushing treatment begins with you picking up a colour pigment. Our technician will guide you and inform you about the process prior to the treatment.
- Firstly, we will draw the desired shape
- Our technician will use a tiny needle to implant the colour into the lips.
- Aftercare is discussed and an aftercare balm is given to the client to take home
The whole lip blushing procedure takes about 1.5 hours from start to finish. Once done, your lips might get red and swollen. You can apply an ice pack to reduce the swelling. It will take 4 to 6 weeks to heal. During the first week of the healing period, you must avoid going swimming and doing intense workouts or training.

How Long Does The Appointment Take?
The initial appointment is 1.5 hours long, and your touchup (4–6 weeks later) usually takes about 1 hour.

Choosing your color is the most fun part of your appointment! Together, we will select the best option based on your end goal, current lip tone and your skin’s undertone.
Can Lip Blushing Make Lips Bigger?
Lip blushingprocedure is done with the sole purpose of giving your lips a pigmented colour that looks natural. Lip blushing is not about making lips bigger. Although, because of the treatment, your lips might start looking more defined.
What To Expect When Getting Lips Tattooed?
You can expect your lips to be slightly swollen for 1–2 days, especially if you are very sensitive. You may also experience some itchiness, dryness or redness; this should subside within 7–10 days.
Can I Still Get Filler?
Yes! Lip blush and filler pair wonderfully together and lots of clients have both! Just make sure to get your tattoo 4 weeks before or after your filler appointment.
For How Long Will Lip Blushing Last?
How long the lip blushing treatment will last varies from person to person as influenced by aftercare and lifestyle. Factors that can speed up the removal or fading away of your lip colour are:
- smoking
- sun exposure
- skin exfoliation
- Iron deficiency.
However, lip blush generally lasts for around two to four years. To maintain the pigment, it is recommended to visit us every 18 to 24 months for refresh sessions.
Is Lip Blushing Treatment Painful?
We are trained in techniques that cause minimal to no pain. We also offer the option of topical aesthetic if needed to our clients.
How Long Does It Take To Heal Completely?
Lips will appear healed in about 5–7 days; however, lips take 4 weeks to fully heal.
Can I workout or swim after my appointment?
No vigorous exercise for 2 days, and no swimming for 1 week!
Can I wear makeup after my appointment?
Yes of course, but no lipstick or lip gloss on your lips for a minimum of 1 week. Use only the paw paw provided while they are healing!
Treatment Contraindications
Every cosmetic tattooing treatment comes with certain contraindications, which everyone needs to understand. In case of lip blushing, people who are going through the following conditions should avoid a lip blushing treatment:
- Pregnancy
- Planning to get pregnant
- Have sunburn
- Have skin conditions
- Have hepatitis B, A, or C
- Breastfeeding.
